Marand Builders is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This role provides hands-on exposure to key HR functions, including employee records, onboarding support, HR systems, compliance, training coordination, internal communications, and employee engagement.

The HR Intern will assist with administrative projects, process improvements, and documentation efforts that support the HR team and employees across the company. This internship is ideal for someone pursuing a degree or career interest in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining and updating employee records, personnel documentation, and HR files.
  • Support new hire and onboarding processes, including data entry, document tracking, and employee communication.
  • Enter, update, and organize information in HR systems and internal platforms.
  • Assist with HRIS-related tasks, reporting, and data accuracy reviews.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and other tools to prepare, organize, and summarize HR-related information.
  • Support compliance projects, audits, and documentation requests.
  • Help review, organize, and distribute company policies, forms, and HR communications.
  • Register employees for training courses, programs, and development opportunities.
  • Save, organize, and maintain HR and project-related information in Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Assist with researching HR process improvements, automation opportunities, and system efficiencies.
  • Prepare or compile information using Microsoft PowerPoint, Canva, Beautiful.ai, or similar presentation tools.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, office communications, and small event coordination.
  • Serve as a point of contact for assigned HR administrative tasks or internal follow-ups.
  • Participate in planning and organizing company events, meetings, and employee programs.
  • Assist with other administrative, recordkeeping, and HR department responsibilities as assigned.


Requirements
 
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow instructions, and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable learning new software systems and internal processes.
  • Prior office, administrative, customer service, or HR-related experience is helpful but not required.

Physical Demands:
  • The individual typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear. Generally, the job requires 70% sitting, 15% walking, and 15% standing.
  • Frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle, or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 5 pounds.
  • Please note that climbing stairs is a physical requirement. Some offices contain an elevator but one must be able to use stairs for fire drills and emergencies.


Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Individual may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
