We are seeking an entry level Office/ Accounting Assistant to join our team and play a crucial role in creating a positive office environment and being a representative of Marand Builders.

In 1999, armed with an Electrical Engineering degree, 14 years of business experience with Hoechst
Celanse and a restless entrepreneurial spirit, Francisco Alvarado decided to embark on a new venture

Our ideal candidate will have:
- An associates degree in accounting or business
- An internship at an accounting firm or some other entity that provided data entry experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer programs
- A willingness to learn more about accounting to grow with our team
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively
- Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills; ability to interact positively with teammates at various levels across the company and customers
- Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional groups
- Have a positive attitude and keep a solution-based and customer-focused mindset at all times.
- Take pride in quality of work and attention to detail.
- Professional in-person and phone presence and etiquette.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office
Responsibilities
- Greets customers and other guests
- Answers switchboard phone calls and directs calls to the appropriate person
- Delivers oral or written messages.
- Furnishes employees with clerical supplies.
- Opens, sorts, and distributes incoming mail, and collects, seals, and stamps outgoing mail.
- Operates and maintains office equipment such as postage machine and photocopying machine
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
- Assists the accounting department with billing requests and communication with subcontractors to gather necessary documents
Physical Demands:
- The individual typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties.
- The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear. Generally, the job requires 70% sitting, 15% walking, and 15% standing.
- Frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle, or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds.
- Please note that climbing stairs is a physical requirement. Some offices contain an elevator, but one must be able to use stairs for fire drills and emergencies
